2. Choose the right setting on the device
Start low and work your way up.
The go-big-or-go-home approach is not recommended when it comes to pore cleaners like Clara. Selecting the right setting for your skin type and the area of your skin you are working on is very important. For instance, Clara has 5 different settings and we don’t recommend jumping in and starting right away at level 5. Instead, we recommend starting on 1 (the lowest setting), especially around more delicate areas of the face such around the eyes and on the cheeks. With practice, you will learn the best settings for different areas of your face and according to your unique skin type.
3. Prep your skin before you begin
The tool will work better if you have prepared your skin before your treatment.
When you go to the spa for a facial, the treatment doesn't begin without a bit of skin prep first. Making sure your face is freshly washed and free of makeup is key. If your pores are primed in advance, when it comes to using the tool you can get more gunk from your pores. You can do this by applying heat to help dilate the pores and soften build-up inside for easier extractions. This can be achieved by using a device like our Rivo Facial Steamer, using the built-in warm compress on Clara or even just having a nice hot shower before hand.
