5 Things Dermatologists Want you to Stop Doing to Your Skin

5 Things Dermatologists Want you to Stop Doing to Your Skin

What do all celebrities have in common? Great skin! It’s no secret that being a Hollywood star piles on the pressure to look glowing at all times. Whilst we’re fortunate that no one will splash our picture all over the internet if we step out the house in PJ’s and bed hair, we do envy their flawless complexions…

Whilst they might have the money and connections to achieve their enviable skin, it doesn’t have to be that complicated - or expensive! Yep, you read that right! Whilst certain skincare products are more superior than others, often times the way we use these products or how we treat our skin is actually what’s holding us back from achieving our best complexion yet! Who better to listen to for skincare advice than the skin gods and goddesses themselves, dermatologists!

They know more about pores than we can ever comprehend and that’s why if you want great skin, stop doing these 5 dermatologist no-nos…

Popping Pimples

You’ve heard it before, but we’re here to remind you again! Popping your own pimples is a HUGE skin no-no!

In fact, you’re probably making your skin worse. Transferring bacteria into your pores and worsening the inflammation. Instead, persevere with targeted treatments and see a professional if you’re struggling to shift stubborn spots.

Shunning SPF

Always wear SPF on your face, even if it’s cloudy! If you don’t, expect burns, redness and premature aging!

And trust us, the SPF in your makeup won’t cut it. In fact, it’s probably not as strong as it states on the bottle. Choose products specially formulated to be used on your skin so you don’t run the risk of clogging your pores.

Sleeping In Makeup

As well as waking up in the morning looking less human, more panda, you might also be welcomed by a spot or two. Not cool!

Leaving your makeup on overnight blocks up your pores, preventing them from breathing. Bacteria builds up, as a result, leaving you with tired looking, blackhead-ridden skin. Always cleanse, tone & moisturize at the very least before you let your head hit the pillow.

Not Exfoliating

Exfoliating two or three times a week is ideal for removing bacteria build-up & dead skin cells. However, be careful not to over-exfoliate, as this can irritate the skin.

The perfect solution? The Cora 3 Complete Facial Cleansing Spa System, which comes with 3 brushes, including a gentle everyday head. It even slows down in speed if you press down on your face too hard to prevent irritation!

Using Dirty Facecloths

Admit it! How often do you really wash your facecloths?

In fact, facecloths are no longer necessary in a modern day skincare routine. Shun your traditional towels in favor of a facial brush. Our favorite is the Cora 3 which has heads for all our face cleansing needs. Plus you only need to replace the head every 2-3 months, win-win! --- Simple yet effective!

That’s what we like when it comes to our skincare. Stick religiously to these 5 tips and you’ll see improvements you didn’t even know were possible without spending the big bucks!
